AGONG BIRTHDAY HOLIDAY AND THE REVITALIZED BACKLANE

We don't even know the guy. But he has a birthday and it's a holiday. First order of the day is to have dim sum  Having dim sum in the morning feels like Sunday.
in some part of malaysia dimsum even on weekdays starts from 6am to 2pm full House.
We headeed for chinatown where at the same time I discovered a wide angle lens option on my phone.
amazing ya?
we combed through Chee Chrong Kai like evey other malaysian should.

this is an answer to  brutalist interpretation of the art and crafts "blood and bandage" style. It seems very heavy.
Then there is the Hindu flower sellers where the car was parked.
along the way are these lovely benchess industrial chic for a cafe.
And we wandered further...

There is always a brilliant looking wall out there.
Everyone like the whole country checked out this black and white bungalow what used to be part of of a police station.
The crowded started to
Intensify as every other cool restaurant was completely occupied. (Ya i know we just had dimsum, Breakfast and lunch are a round the same time but different places).
The crowd brought us to a back lane. Revitalised as a local tourist spot in 2019.

There is this caged portion that everyone knows they must go.
Back lane revitalised as a photographic experience.
Nevermind the historical accuracy. Just create local tourism.
The old wall have mural for photographic opportunities
This is a left over urban space now cherised as a place to be. Imagine how much value it has become.
Some parent must have forgotten their kids while indulging in their selfie zeal, The kids  make lovely props as models of a make believe space.

Everybody need to get on this newly casted concrete stair. Looks old buy it is new.
So literally a filmset.

So the back alley is just an introduction to the real world.

ORIGINAL MANUFACTURER DELIGHT

I chance upon these good looking shoes which I never heard before!
I am no sneaker/ shoe affectionado but these are simple enough for my taste.

I don't follow rick owen or  yeezy stuff but simplicity is easy to match. Being a lazy person , I like loafers.

I found that this Brand offers guitars too !

Amazing ya ?

Let us not discuss shoe engineering here, but manufacturing standards looks good.

Ramaging through aliexpress , we find equally good looking shoes.
in the world of original manufactures, they pitch for the large jobs by branded sport shoe company allowing them to buy the latest machines to make these fabulous shoes. Their cost to delivere to the big brands are less than 10% of the final retail price which is very little. In order to break even , these manufacturers generated more designs to sell as unknown brands at 300% their cost resulting to  price range between rm45 to rm90.

The funny part is that the branded and unknown product have very similar qualities. This will eventual cause confusion as their price is still 10% of the big brand.  Should we support them? Well yes, if you bought unbranded shoes you help the factory to break even their investment hence, supporting the branded shoes you buy too.

Quality in today's world is confusing.
More important why can't we be like Ambros? This is because Singapore lack a following for local brand. With a population of 5.7mil only 2.3mil is truly from the land. Ambros in Malaysia has access to a population of 33.80mil that may not be able to afford brands like Addidas. Their shoes retailed rm39 to rm159, an entry level addidas would have been about rm300.

Buy an original manufacturer's shoe today !
